Contact MeMy family used to own Daimonds House, as a child my grandmother and her eldest son (my uncle) lived in the ground floor flat, my parents and of course me, lived in the middle flat and we used to rent out the top flat. I believe that the house was named after the chap that owned it originally, Daimond, not Diamond !!!
I was told that he was a wealthy merchant and I was told that the land belonging to it went up to Landscore Road, which presumably was sold off for building as the garden at the back was small when I lived there.
I lived there until I was thirteen, when my dad got a job that had a cottage as part of the package. Daimond House had a huge conservatory out the front with a fishpond and goldfish, and it was full of colourful geraniums. Not sure how old the house is but at a guess I would think around the 1800's.
I am keen to make contact with Pat Lee as I am researching 2 of the members of her family who served in WW1; Henry Elijah Rowles and William Henry Rowles.
