The Village of Minstead in the County of Hampshire

Minstead, the home and final resting place of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, is set in the New Forest in Hampshire, close to Stoney Cross and the A31 road between Cadnam and Ringwood.

Nearby stands the Rufus Stone, a memorial to the Red King, William II (William Rufus), who died in a hunting accident in this royal forest in 1100 AD.
