Contact MeBelmont Rise has sections where its surrounded by heavy housing. The speed limit is inappropriately high at 40mph, there aren’t spreed hurdles where some drivers and noisy motor bikes tend to speed creating a lot of noise and pollution. Where it crosses Dorset Road families cross the road taking their children into and out of a primary school and the speed can be dangerously high.
There is a speed camera before, not after the traffic light thus encouraging the drivers to speed at and through the junction. And that speed camera which is inappropriately positioned doesn’t even seem to work!
Everything is wrong, there are even speed signs at the junction telling drivers they can speed up at 40mph and into Dorset road telling them they can drive at 30mph which is unrealistic as you cannot even physically reach 30mph down that road if you try.
I appeal to Transport for London snd Sutton Council to be considerate to the families living on and around Belmont Rise to decrease the speed limit to 30mph and Dorset Road to 20mph snd to insert speed hurdles just after the traffic lights at the junction with Dorset Road and also to insert another the speed camera after the traffic lights and make sure it works please.
This is for the safety and consideration for the families living on and around that busy road and the families that have children in the school next to it.
Please follow the standards of nearby areas like Kingston and Wimbledon where there are so many roads running at 20mph.
